South Florida

Like the postcards say..I wish you were here
This is the vacation spot with tropical atmosphere
You may run into Madonna or Sly Stallone
Since south florida is their home sweet home
You can enjoy the beach, drink a martini
Eye the tan guys or the girls in bikini's
Disney World is still a fun place to go
Only downfall of florida is that it doesn't snow
Once in a while it gets kind of cold
Many of us floridians skip the jacket and act bold
We are really big on sports
And it's so nice to wear a t-shirt and shorts
So next time you ask me "how is it"
I'll remind you to come down for a visit!
It is great fun to fish from the pier
Florida's also the home of my frends Walker and Balladeer
Join us in the sunshine state
And when it's time to leave you'll hesitate!

RosePetal - I was in Florida for five months this past summer. My mom lives there, and it was great to be near her... Visited all the spots while there, and it's a nice place, yet this past summer was just a little too hot for me....

wish i was there too

So tonight I'll ask
The stars above
"How can I ever win your love?"
What can I do,
What can I say
To turn your angel eyes my way...

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

I was a Tallahassee lassie for a few years, but I grew up in CA, in Valley girl fantasyland. But the gypsy soul kept me  movin, and here I am freezin my buns off at the top o' the world! But I sure do remember FSU "Go Noles!"  games, and those great sinkholes, and St George Island beach volleyball games. Can you pass me a salted Margarita and a few chords of Jimmy Buffet?

Ok, if Kacy knows Jimmy Buffet, why doesn't Tracey appreciate him?  It's true, gonna live in the South...certain things you've gotta love.  RP... you've got it going on.  Take no prisoners.  Life on the beach...enjoy!!!

I love it here too, it's perfect hurricanes and all even in bad weather people here stick together. Thanks for the mention RP, sorry New Yorkers even though I grew up in Forest Hills NY, I'm 100% Floridian

You make this sound so inviting. If I'm ever down that way would love to visit.I love the sunshine and warm weather. Not fond of the cold and snow here.

I can handle Florida for awhile longer, but the humidity is like walking around in a cloud all night...born, growing up, and living here, all my life, I'm ready for a change myself. It's nice that someone can see the good in it! Neat poem. And Jimmy is a pretty neat guy too.
