“SKIPPING STONES”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Stones flat to throw, into the calm,
skipping here, there, most everywhere…
Ripples they make, on the surface,
reminds me too much, of this affair…
Wonder how far they sink, to the bottom,
must be lonesome, lying there in the cold…
The sun doesn’t shine, to warm them,
it’s like my heart, you never consoled…
Hurt feelings too many times, had to leave,
so I stand here, the wind chills my bones…
Don’t know if I’ll ever be back again,
rather be at the bay, skipping stones…
Alonel and sad, but lovely poem and written so expertly...one day she will come along and be overjoyed to skip stones with you! Ellie
*sigh* sadness and pain...do you think there is room for me to skip a few stones with you...I know quite a bit about hurt feelings? My heart felt this one, Bill...peace, dear man, let the calmness of the bay fill your soul with healing. **big big hugs**
Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
Bill - This paints quite a sad, lonely picture.....and then on the other hand, sometimes the smoothness of the stones and the spattering of the water as they skip, can be a therapy of sorts. Well done. Chris
Wow, BC, sad lonely one.  Sometimes we just are given no choice but to walk away.  But, you never know when that door will open again.  Lovely write.
(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Bill, this is so so sad, I know just how you feel. I just wish I could skip stones at the beach, but I live so far away from one! (sad sigh) My heart cries out to you, sweet friend, know that you are loved by us all and you are so very special to us all! (big hugggsssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend! God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Bill darling boy this is without doubt one of your utter best, the descriptive way of your lines is utterly superb darling boy. You really are getting to be soooooooooo incredibly good. The flow is utterly excellent.
The imagery as always is superb. I can feel the coolness of the air, I could feel the freezing of your heart. Fabulous writing but you know that, don’t you? I hope so YOU are an absolutely fantastic writer, don’t ever stop
What can I say except this is utterly wonderful.
Bill:  I wanted to say, at least once,
that you write with the most tender freshness
that i have seen in a long time.
Stones skip and play on hard surfaces, until they
just
dwindle
...and
.......sink
