God, are you busy?
I'm in need of some advice
I come to you
For you are an essential part of my life
Just like everyone else, I have problems
Please renew my strength
So I'm strong enough to solve them
I feel for those who are worse off than me
I've made many friends among my passions family
God, why can't this be a perfect world?
Is it because people would take it forgranted
more than they already do?
I know you're comsumed today
With many people calling upon you
God, do you know what it's like to feel down?
You are always so cheerful
Even when countless people speak to you
Giving you an earful
I send my love to you quite often
I know you've received it
When my heart starts to soften
I'm thankful for your guidance
And wonder what your voice would sound like?
Thank You for being so forgiving
Never limiting us to only three strikes!
It's getting late, but before I go to sleep
There are a few people I'd like you to bless for me
First and formost, my family
Though thick and thin they're there for me
Also, Bless my passions family
For without them there is no poetry!
Bless Noah, my angel from above
I'd be terribly lost without his tender love
Thank you God, someday we'll be up there with you
but for now please watch over them
And see them through
Lastly, bless all the animals in the world
Especially cats and dogs
They are playful creatures
Who make us feel loved
They are our house pets, they are our friends
I heard having pets can help you live longer!
Thank you God, Amen!

Yes, I can certainly see how Kit's piece inspired this. You have written a wonderful piece also on your thoughts and prayers Joanna.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

My sister should outlive everyone. She has 38 cats, 5 dogs, numerous chickens, ducks, geese, and a goat...plus at least 30 hogs. Yes, she will outlive us all.
A very good poem Joanna, well inspired.

RosePetal - after reading this writing, I ask only one favor. Please say one word to HIM, for me...

"I send my love to you quite often

Oh Joanna ... I'm so thrilled that you were inspired to write this piece! That means so very much to me. You've expressed so much within these lines, and I can certainly relate to so much of what you've said here so beautifully from the heart.

I'm the biggest fan of pets myself. As a child, I said the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer each night, while my mother sat beside me, and to this day, I remember my list perfectly ... "God bless mommy and daddy and all their friends, Cindy and Greg and all their friends, Gramma and Grampa and all their friends, and Suzy and all her friends" (Suzy was my dog, LOL). Ahhhh ... thanks for helping me to remember that. I feel like I just got a great big heart hug. Much enjoyed Joanna!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Ahh, a lovely prayer, and here's something about a dog.

Good Dog!

Poised in sniffin’s occupation,
Seeking Master’s adulation,
Comes a’ runnin’, tail a’ waggin’,
Good Dog!

She was the sweetest little grey poodle you've ever seen, and lived to be 14, Joanna. My brother and I would fight over whose bed she'd sleep in each night. My parents got so frustrated with us, they laid down the law and said my brother got "even" nights, and I got "odd" nights (but I'd still sneek in when he was asleep, and entice her out with a cookie, LOL.) I also got the better deal because if it was the 31st, I got her a second night in a row, because the 1st was another "odd" day, ROFL. Here's a pic of her on my web site.  http://www.geocities.com/kwmccallum/suzy2.jpg

(if that doesn't work, you may have to type it in manually, I don't think geocities lets me link back to my page)

Hugs,
/Kit
