Ride away you bold horseman,
You’re bleeding,
With your rifle in your hand,
Watching back the trail you came,
You’re needing
Mending for the spreading stain
That drips on saddle leather
You’re staining,
The ride makes it not better,
But pursuit follows you now,
You’re straining,
To continue on somehow.

You pause,
Blood on the saddle
Blood all around
There even a pool
Of blood on the ground.

Spurs dig in,
Your trusted steed takes the trail,
Then the wind,
Echoes with pursuers voice,
Closing in,
Will you escape them or fail?

Now comes night,
Exhaustion making your choice,
Turn to fight.

BRAVO!!! (sigh) Oh my gosh, this poem made me cry to think of how tough and harsh life was back then in trying to save themselves and also have time to heal and rest. (sigh) Powerful poem, dear friend, you always express so wonderfully! (big hugggsssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aszard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank you, Startime,
you'll have to tune in next week,
just like on TV.
Well, not really, I don't have a sequel yet.
and I never was big on happy endings.
Glad you liked it though.

Thank you, Decaflame,
Westerns are what I grew up on,
later came the Sci-Fi
Pleased you enjoyed.

This one didn't hit me as something of enjoyment like the others...I see you not as in westerns..but as in medieval times...fighting for the hand of some Lady...
perhaps
