singular affect

no one
ever
ran after me
as you did

no one
ever
gazed upon me
as you did

no one
ever
spake unto me
as you did

no one
ever
cried before me
as you did

no one
ever
opened to me
as you did

no one
ever
accepted me
as you did

no one
ever
embosomed me
as you did

no one
ever
melted my heart
as you did

no one
ever
reached into me
as you did

no one
ever
wrought such healing
within me

author's note: i don't know if this style has a name. but, i used this style to write "vacuum" as well. it's a style i plan on using on and off in my writing. if anyone knows of a name for this style of writing, i'd appreciate a note from you.

the specifics of this style as i've invented it are:

1) no limmit on the number of stanza's

2) each stanza written with four lines

3) each stanza is structured exactly the same (sylabols per line), but this structure is independent to each poem

5) one line changes in each stanza throughout the poem, it is always the same line

6) in the last stanza two lines change, the same line as throughout the poem, and another

I know nothing about the style. But I love this piece. Great thoughts and feelings in it. Speaks of one who has truly found love and the peace and happiness that love brings.

Whatever the style is I enjoyed it. I love the repetitive nature here, and it leaves me feeling as if you could be talking about God or about someone you love...or a friend.

I also don't know if this style has a name or not but it is very effective. Well done!

I liked the piece very much too, it was an eye catching style ... very readable and carried a message

there might be a name for this yes. . . but, if there isn't, what would you name it??

I like the repeating lines here as well, gives it an insistent quality. . .

(*note: you might want to look at stanza 5*)

Sven: if i gave a name to this style, i suppose i might use the title of this poem as the style name. reason being, each stanza is affected singularly on a singular line, and the poem as a whole has a singular affect in another line in the final stanza. i knew the title of this piece before i began writing it, and i actualy approached the style based on the title as well as what i wished to say. then, i realized i quite liked the style and wanted to use it more. i do this a lot, invent styles then want to find out if it already exists or if i actually invented something. lol. seems like this one might be a real invention. maybe someday i'll invent something as well like as the villanelle.

all else, thank you for your comments and thoughts. quite enjoyed.
