This is very emotional for me given my past...but I think I have found the words to write what I went through tonight.

A Glance At Chance

Without warning I saw a glimpse even as quickly as it was
It was of a moment I saw of pain free here in the present and beyond
Though it made itself visible for just a brief time before my eyes
The overwhelming vision left me with no verbal response...

All in a blink of an eye did I see a tiny spark of all I've wished for
And, for a second there I was drowning in a dream like trance
Face to face to my window so very bitter cold to the touch
Found it's clear stained glass simply giving me a glance at chance...

I like looking out at what grows even greater by the day
And, when I think of great I can't help but think of you
For when the winter display combined itself with the beauty of your soul
I was given the most awesome, joyful, and touching debut...

So, there I sat mesmerized by the feeling of what I just went through
And, sat there looking out as if I could really see you standing there
I know it was just a moment in my mind that my inner self created on it's own
Still I placed my hand on that glass hoping yours was against mine out in that air...

I had a glance at chance when that window gave me a view
It made me realize there's more out there then a river of hurt
With my eyes wide open you were within the beauty cause you're part of my dream
That glance at chance for a future of happiness was truly my first...

When the moment in my mind was allowing me dignity for even knowing my past
I came to reality still feeling faith behind that glass
Still with my imagination of you out there almost face to face with me
I gave you an image I sketched in the dew for you to see...

With one finger I drew the half moon in the left hand corner of it all
And, I left parts of it on the window untouched with the darkness to represent a night
And, I placed my fingertips just in spots to allow the look of the stars
Then shaded with the palm of my hand the surroundings to appear their light...

There on the moon I created a profile of you sitting on there looking down
And, in the middle of the glass I outlined a figure of an angelic like bed
Trimmed around it with my finger to what was supposed to be the white light one gives off
I then drew myself lying there with you watching over me from way overhead...

You see, there was always one single wish I prayed for my entire life
And, never did this one wish ever come true
It was to have someone who loved me like I loved them
Sit with me through the night so I could rest the hours through...

So, my glance at chance became a way to make myself where I've always wanted to be
And, I just remained there drawn on that window knowing you'd keep all pain away
With your eyes wide open you kept me within such safe sight
I hope my next glance at chance you can actually lie on my bed someday...

That's quite an image you saw. I know you may not respond to these replies, but it's oK. Just allow yourself to relax, and let the healing begin. I'll light a candle for you, and wish upon the northern star that you will find the peaceful light you are seeking. Take care, Sauni. We will still be here whenever you can visit.

Hi, this is a beautiful poem, and a lot of emotional things to deal with for you, obviously. I hope it comes out well in the end. Sometimes hope for the future is all to hold on to.

I hope your next glance is him laying in your bed too with him glancing at you with true love in his eyes. **hugs**
