POPTARTS.

The edible weapon of Peace.

You say you wanted rice???

Well, EXCUSE ME please,

But we had a surplus of

POPTARTS.

No one here would buy them

they all had expired dates.

But you should be thankful

if you're really hungry,

for these are

POPTARTS

for

PEACE.

Now eat them,
and say
Thank You.

~has a sudden evil thought~
a mental image - we give the starving people of the world frosted poptarts and honey - something that i sometimes think the US would actually do - and then fly a big helicopter past them with a sign saying "Got Milk(tm)?"
i know it's oh so wrong.
but mwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Dave, I do believe you understood. Thanks. Yes, we did the absurd thing. We actually  dropped Poptarts by the thousands. Cardboard fake food. The Afghanis didn't even recognize these things as food, and got rid of them in the black market bazaar as fast as they could. (Smart move) Then some people in charge scratched their heads instead of their butts, and decided to drop wheat. Did anyone ever ask the people what they could/would eat, and if they had any way to prepare the food? Yes, we do need to help all we can. But we need to be mores sensitive to what these people really need to survive. Poptarts? Absurdity, stupidity.

Balladeer, you are too funny. But I know you understand.  "Let them eat cake", said Marie Antoinette.

HAHAHA. Thanks for reading walt. Yep, the black market was flooded with these things. Wonder how many got sold...or fed to the animals? Maybe they could build a shelter with those things?

LOL. Yes, bureaucrats.
Webster def: an official who works by fixed routine, without exercising intelligent judgement. You called them by their rightful name, no matter how you spell or misspell it.   Hugs to you.
