Wondrous wandering
waves~~~awash~~~
a hungry wanting
tide for beach...

Ponderous pandering
paves---proceed---
a hungry tide
eats at the beach...

Alliteration,
most mundane,
each day different?
words the same
written roads
a finger's hand--
washed away
with bits of land
terra firma
not eternal
slipping grains of sand
through FIST.

*     *     *

I held a dream
in the palm of my hand.
I held it too tight.
It turned into sand.
All I had left
was the sand and the sweat,
that slipped through my fingers,
leaving only regrets.

Karen,
loved the images and the alliteration.

*sigh*  mirror mirror on the wall....

somehow wrapping lifes lessons in rhyme makes it seem easier to take the bitter pill.
groovy alliterations me twin...and employ of metaphor.
if we hold the dream tight enough...wont that sand turn into a diamond
me

When your own emptiness is all thats getting through
there comes a point when youre not sure why youre still talking...
I passed that point long ago

I have to say, the last one is the one for me. Wow. Just perfect, and just how I feel, as always.
