Somewhere... out there...

A
dying
flame
   trapped
       within
         a
        wall of        glass
       As  I           stare
     into the        fading   fire
it begins        to speak  to  my
   heart...............It  tells  of  a
    lifetime   of  hopes  and  dreams
never to be fulfilled...........yet
it   speaks  of  an  undying   spirit-
a spirit  that will never stop believing
As I listen...I become lost...lost within the
fire and the story it tells......... The voice

  slowly........fades
........as the flame  gives  in
to death.........but its  story  of  undying
faith will forever burn
within my soul...

A special relighting in remembrance of the past year
and with hope for a bright tomorrow.
A very Happy New Year to each of you.

Great, Vick, the presentation, and the theme. We have to keep the fire lit..its the only thing that we CAN do to help things carry on.
Happy New Year.

Vicky...this is wonderfully done...and cleverly as well...and your message sparks of hope and reminders of things we must not let be forgotten...made me think of the hope and promise of the Statue of Liberty's torch and the spirit of the Olympic torch.
Happy New Year to you too dear poetess...we all heal together as one.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, this is moving.  Yes, we should always, always remember that our lives, people in them are fleeting, precious.  We must guard them with everything we are.

I love the way you’ve penned this. The imagery in the words, the way you’ve put the images on the screen, incredible Vicky. And may the new year bring the greatest of joys to you, and those you hold dear.
