Science folk will tell you
tonight a meteor appears
To shower us with fireworks
in all our hemispheres

I don’t believe a word of it
they don’t want you to know
The truth of the matter is
we’ll see God’s magic show

He’s going to sprinkle fireflies
in the heaven before sunrise
So set your alarm to see
the wonder in the skies

Blown from the hand of God
is the dust of heavenly light
It’s His way of telling us
it’s time to end this night

While sprinkles of start dust
fall upon earth’s weary face
Remember why we’re living
within God’s precious grace

Each light that flickers in the sky
will bring a remembrance of
The loss of someone dear to us
the face of one we love

So as the shower of light begins
put aside the telescope
Look up and see not science
But look up and see life’s hope

Oh my! A wonderful poem about the truth behind the meteor shower.   It's going to be the first time in my life that I've witnessed one, I hope I don't miss it.

Sharon this is so lovely in its message of intent and its imagery.
It puts such a wonderful ethereal touch on the whole event.

Thank you all!!! I've set my alarm to get up (3 AM for me) so I'm hoping I can see it - with my luck it will be the first time in 3 months that it rains in Arizona!! Sigh!

Stranger than fiction...my girlfriend's got a utility extension cord with an electric blanket attached strung out to my convertable.  The alarm is set for 3AM, the time the shower should pass here.  Give or take a few hours.  I will sleep through it all and let her tell me about it in the morning.  Not that I wouldn't like to see it but one of us has to be up early for work.  Cool write!

delightful read - sorta made up for missing it - there are many dark places on our beaches but we were socked in by thick fog - no chance of seeing the show

*sigh* I came back for a 2nd read, since I don't think I'll be seeing the meteor shower tonite   It's supposed to at 4am in Australia, but the weather bureau juz said we'll be expecting a storm... Right now, the strong winds juz brought the rain clouds in *sigh*

But I do hope all of you who could witness this phenomena will enjoy it, coz it's really God's gift.
