Who’s the Grinch
By Larry Chadwick

You don’t have to be from Whoville,
To have a heart that is too small.
And you don’t have to meet the Grinch,
To think like him at all.

Just think about the way you act,
When Christmas comes around.
Do you focus on the needs of others,
Or do your own wants just abound.

For even the Grinch in Whoville,
Overcame his thoughts of self.
And you should do the very same,
Start thinking about someone else.

Before you know what has happened,
Your generosity will cause surprises.
And when Christmas is said and done,
Your heart will have grown three sizes.

i loved this poem.  doesn't it feel good to give something to someone that doesn't have it?  i love the feeling i get when i help people do or get something they might not have otherwise.
and doreen, there's nothing wrong with that, if you ask me.

Larry this is one time I have to agree with you...I reached out to my lady friend with an olive branch and she softened her heart for me...I just decided she has been through too much already and doesn't need me to bring her more problems...James

Seuss me! The man's a poet...I bet your heart grew three sizes just writing this...or perhaps it was your head

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I love grinches, Larry and I loved your poem.
I guess I am just a sucker for Dr. Seuss and all of his characters.
I used to know a character like that
somewhat like Dr. Seusse's Cat in the Hat
unfortunately he was MY cat
and he loved to sleep in my favorite hat

And I think doreen has a great idea about the homeless people.

Opeth,
Thanks. Welcome to Passions! Hope you like it here as much as I do.

Lyra,
Funny, you're a soft touch for Dr. Seuss and me I'm a soft touch for Pooh and company. So really enjoyed tigger. LOL

Bill,
Thanks. And Merry Christmas at your home as well.

SEA,
One more clue in the puzzle of figuring out you. Thanks.
