As we think back, we should in awe
To Bethlehem, and what some saw

A child was born for everyone
To be our Savior, as God's Son

What feeling Mary must have shared
With husband Joseph, he so cared

Three wise men came, each had gifts for
This infant God, they would adore

A star did guide them on their way
Right to this place, where Jesus lay

Sometimes I wish I could have seen
This perfect birth, this purest scene

Yet just to know that he was there
Does give me faith, our God is fair

This time and place will always be
My first step to eternity

I thank you God for your great Son
To all he should be number one
