I've been into writing a lot of this champagne type of music lately. Sort of a Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett type of feel to it. Hey, it's the time of year for a love song!!  This is a rework of an old poem of mine.

That moonlit flight the night we met
there were stars all around in the air.
They shone like diamonds through the mist
and the moon beams played on your golden hair.

There were glowing charms over silver arms
and I knew when you started to stare
you were losing your heart to me
and the moon beams played on your golden hair.

Bridge
The night light fingers spread up and down
and your lovely eyes were soft and round
while my heart danced like a child at a fair.
Love was born above the ground...
love was born in the air.

A spell was the mood like a champagne tune
it was the start of a long love affair
and when we kissed on that night
when moon beams played on your golden hair.

In the heavens above wrapped up in your love
there was never a dream to compare.
That moonlit night that kansas flight
when the moon beams played on your golden hair.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

G'day mate,
how is it that you can make everything sound so wonderful. Moonlight becomes you!

I thought this was brilliant and the image of Tony Bennett standing before me singing this tune was amazing.  Well done.
Take care......Sue
