You are there
Yet here with me
And that’s the beguiling mystery
How could you be there
There
Beyond
The seen horizons
Beyond the echoing lines
The hushed breeze
The tumbling leaves
Within me

Yet…
Not beyond my own horizons
Not beyond the echoing music
Of my words
Not beyond the reach
Of my soul
You are there
There beyond the echoes of me
Beyond my reach
Beyond my words of speech
Beyond my every breath

Yet
You are here
Within my vein
Within my arteries
And feelings so supreme

And as I have you
Close
Near
Yet so far
So far that my breath
Doesn’t have you
My eyes
Can not see you
And my fingers
Do not brush away
The dust of feelings
That you keep away
And words you can’t say

Yes…
You are far
That it fills me with fear
To have you yet so near
