Draw close those angels on this night
reflect in glow of fire-light
as in the distance sound the bells
and listen to this tale that tells

not of the Savior, by his grace
shall be re-deemed the Human race
and not of Santa, nor his toys
have patience now good girls and boys

as out-side fall two flakes of snow
the first to come the last to go

There're stories tell of mid-nights clear
of sleighs that fly pulled by rein-deer
of silver bells and mistle-toe
as outside fall two flakes of snow

'tis said that many years ago
near Bethlehem a star did show
three wise-men where a babe did lay
that brought about our Christmas day

and for this reason we rejoice
praise be to heaven raise your voice
while outside fall two flakes of snow
the first to come the last to go

And girls and boys that time is near
if you've been good that you might hear
those sleigh-bells when they come and go
while outside fall two flakes of snow

"What's this" you say,"it can't be so
for weeks I've looked out my window,
there're places where snow's piled so high
it almost seems to touch the sky!"

"While that may very well be true"
the story-teller says to you
"when your beliefs are pure and strong
the truth will never steer you wrong"

And in the warmth of fire-glow
the angels drift to sleep and so
are dreams re-newed like flakes of snow
the first to come, the last to go.
