Job 4
(12) “Now a word was brought to me stealthity,
my ear received the whisper of it.
(13) Amid thoughts from visions of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men,
(14) dread came upon me, and trembling,
which made my bones shake.
(15) A spirit glided past my face,
the hair of my flesh stood up.

He wakes me,
With words I want not to hear,
He shakes me
And break me
From dreams to real thoughts of fear.
Quietly
He tells me
Of violence in the streets,
I do try
To not cry,
And slow heart’s hard pounding beat,
He wakes me,
Telling she’ll never be near.

When and where will I see you now you’re gone,
Missing you greatly and it’s not been long
Your body lays cold not yet in the ground
Spirit lost before the remains are found.

Touch my soul, electrify my spirit.

My eyes seek not light out my dark window,
But look beyond the realm of death’s shadow,
To catch a glimpse as you are winging by
Traveling toward your rest in kingdom high

Touch my soul, electrify my spirit.

The room now glows with an unearthly light,
I see you standing on the edge of sight,
Smiling like when we were children so young,
I must stay while your journey’s just begun.

Loved the reference to Job...and there's another odd coincidence, I was just telling Poet deVine that I felt like I was stuck in that book of the Bible. You write with wisdom, as always....

Aszard,
Wow! What a powerful poem. So much meaning. Well done. A wonderful tribute.

The past is history and the future is a mystery, but today is a gift and that is why it is the present!
