His brains failed him
He was led confidently at first,
thinking success was just a stroll straight ahead

until the mist cleared
and he realised
he was in a perplexing maze all along,
with hardly no ideas
as to how to get himself out,
being the passive follower that he was

His brains abandoned him
He glanced furtively
at the clock on the board
more than he did for his paper
A morning glory he became,
helpless to fend for himself

His brains mocked him
Instead of inducing "Eureka",
they sabotaged his thought process
with the overbearing cliched thought
"fighting a losing battle"

He thought of young soldier boys
and wore their shoes

as his hand waited for delivance
from an elusive fairy godmother

He fumbled
NoT his FAULT

Some handle exams better than others...I have no idea but I hear that the exam to become a lawyer makes or breaks many a man or woman...some have to try three or four times to pass...definately a test of skill, knowledge and determination...James

I just know that exams always scared me to death and no matter how well I knew the material I started to draw blanks. A wonderful poem you have here.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

faterider,
Sounds like my version of College. Four years of torture! But it shall pass even if you don't! Oh, man, I take it back. You'll be fine. Really!

Put to the test...whether in or out of the classroom, it seems as if we're always getting put to the test, one way or the other. Best to just relax and go with it,
"Que sera, sera..whatever will be, will be."
But of course, it sure helps to study and be prepared!
A good write. Enjoyed.

Sunshine, i absolutely do..but what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger, i guess..

definately a test of skill, knowledge and determination...James
James, i hope i would pass the test with flying colours...

Startime, i could have written those words myself...i am a fellow "blanker"..thanks for the compliment...

Larry, so if i deteriorate and feel worse, will you eat your words then? ha!gotcha

Midnitesun, ohhh, i love that quote!! it's basically my philosophy of life..may i ask though what language does "Que sera, sera" originate from??

thanx for reading..i am a bit concerned how i always churn out darker writings these days(why do i always have to blow off steam? am i turning into a wimp? ) this makes me more grateful that people care enough to leave their comments on my thread...

*sigh* It's THE time of the year..... yesh, X'mas is approaching, but before we get to celebrate that, EXAMS come before.

Don't you just hate exams?! Kaile, I guess you were pretty upset by that paper, but don't worry too much about it. Pray for the best, but you have to get yourself prepared for the other papers too...

So, ALL THE BEST!!!

it's always good to let it out my friend. . . it doesn't mean that you're a wimp. . .

I could see you there. . . sweating. . . great job. . .
