         “MISTY MORNING”
                      by
                  Bill Charles
                     ~~~~
I lay down my head, and try to sleep,
        but my eyes tear,
                all they do is weep…
They do not close, I know not why,
        all they can do,
                is want to cry…
Why does the rain, fall from my eyes,
        instead of coming down,
                out of the skies…
It flows down my face, in a sheet,
        and a puddle forms,
                at my feet…
I watch, as it flows away from me,
        all of my hopes,
                dreams they be…
Today is the same, sadder than most,
        my thoughts aren’t free,
                just like a ghost…
I feel things inside, from the pain within,
        the hurt so unbearable,
                it should be a sin…
Morning comes quickly, it’s misty like me,
        and I wonder what comes next,
                what will be…
I wish there was some way I could help you feel better. Just remember that no matter how dark the night may become, the sun will always rise in the morning.
I immediately thought of an old song by Dean Martin..."in the misty moonlight" completely opposite of your title, and your words hold a longing.
