The Hallmark Man Visited My Backyard

He brought his little bag of tricks
and through the night, began to flick
from his little bag of treats
a landscaped scene so very neat ~

one sees upon a Christmas card,
what transpired in my backyard…
early, early this morning riser,
little sleep doesn’t leave me wiser

but see the dreamscape set, and more!
‘cause the Hallmark man came at four
and set before me such a scene
yes, it was a vision’s dream…

Fall’s colors covered my earth’s floor
crystal sprinkles covered them more
with little light, the sparkling set
before my eyes, beauty, met

and all I could think
as I opened the door
was that “the Hallmark man
came the night before…”

And if you hadn't fallen charm to the ways of the "Sandman" then you may have had the chance to watch the "Hallmark" man do his magic. I do love it when you bring us your refined style to offer a majesty of nature through your eyes.

What a nice refreshing blend of poetry and nature. A Hallmark Day, could have been a Kodak moment accompanied by your words.

Karilea, I love this one!  I am still waiting for our first snowfall even though I hear a lot of parts have already received theirs.
Well done!  Hugs, Nancy.

Titia...my husband just asked "will anyone overseas know what you are talking about?"

LOL...

Over here we have a card company called Hallmark...

over the years, they have produced beautiful Christmas cards with the lovely crystal glitter, often a Currier & Ives theme, always something that one would want to hang on to over the years...

so my little Dittie refers to the fact that after a good hard freeze, and the land is covered in crystal ice...my backyard looks like "The Hallmark man" paid a visit...

thanks for asking!

Everyone else!?  Thank you SO much!!!
