A cruel hoax, this life self-imposed.
Victim am I, of sacrifice
To suffer, endure that of a fool.
I bear the burden, forego the pride,
to confront one by one, day by day
the anguish that shames the joy,
conceals the truth, that flees my mind
leaving me masked, stifled,
suppressing the light from my life.

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".
...Pope John Paul II

This is wrenching. It is as if you have turned your skin inside out for everyone to read. Take care.

Self imposed.... self imprisoned... my dear lady.... it is up to you to unlock those chains... no one can do it for you.... all anyone can do is let you know..you too can be free... and yes as we all have learned..freedom has a price. I would ask you.. is it better to pay the price and be free or is it better to be locked inside?

Aren’t we all just victims of ourselves,
Whether in the nature we flaunt assets,
Or put the emotions on hidden shelves,
The method of suffering and how it met,
Illusions into which the mind still dwells.

Very touching! If you are in an abusive relationship, GET OUT! There is a way, if you want out. I know! Because I was in one years ago. Take care of yourself!

The Lady of Shallot, that's exactly how I feel.

Sy,
You are very sweet, thank you.

Cpat...thank you  but some days I lock myself inside literally and on others I lock myself out...and can't yet feel the freedom.

Professor Gloom ..I am my own worst enemy  at this time.

SmartChick ...am in the middle  of an ending that  just  doesn't seem to be happening fast enough...problem is wanting out doesn't solve everything. Thank you for your words.

Sunshine...thank you
