Maybe in times past
I was the ruler of kingdoms vast
Was it so I fought in many a war
just like the ones of old before
Now my sword is replaced by pen
with paper my sheild to defend
the weak, the weary, the lost

I have seen many a man fall
the long, the short, the tall
their crimes were of none to boast
but their living souls are ghosts

The battles are fought with our hearts
the wounds never visable to the eye
and inside everyone of us lives
a force that cannot die

So note my words of old
and protect the ones we love kind
for one day when they perish, we learn
that true love is hard to find
