The Lost Lover of His Sweetheart's Heart

How can you be asking me to be signing up
for these brand new feelings within my heart
Thoughts I thought I left behind have arrived to start spending time walking all over my heart
and dancing disco music through my mind
just like the time you thought you were Olivia
and you left me for a guy named Travolta
and as I stepped into the soaking rain
all I could see was the two of you hand in hand
dancing under that lone street light that seemed
to be shining just for the two of you and I could swear I heard Gene Kelly singing in the rain
as I watched the first of many kisses soon to be planted onto your rain soaked lips.
And I cried because on that rain drenched moment
my love was doomed to die a victim of shattered dreams that seemed to provide a series of soggy nightmares for a young boy that was barely seventeen who thought he was your John Travolta
but seeing you in that lovers embrace surely put him in his accepted place as the lost lover of his sweetheart's heart.

You've brought back some memories for me James ... this piece had a lovely tinge of sorrow ... filled with longing and reflection, very nicely done!

This is so animate with emotion. The rain and Travolta.....very unique mixture. Enjoyed this very much.

Ahhh the painful memories of your first love. As Kit has said.. you've brought back memories. There are so many great lines in here that I like I can't even pick one! Well done my friend
