Hello Passions, I know it's been a while huh?
But like I said before, I've seem to have lost my desire to write..... however, I'll continue to post every once-in-a-while so that I won't feel guilty.....enjoy my poem!

Piss-infected halls,
roaches crawling over,
the floors and walls.
The phones' been cut-off
so, we can't make a call.
Rats are crawling out
holes in the wall,
the refigerator is almost empty
and the thought of stealing tempts me
cause, all we have is,
two small cans of pottish meat
and a three slices of bread to eat,
as my two brothers and I, all weep
before we lay down and fall asleep.
The gas bill hasn't been paid
and soon, the rent will soon be due.
The electric has been turned off,
so, my brothers and I, can't see looney tunes.
We're sick and need doctor or nurse
cause, day by day, our health is getting worse.
Picture our life and put it in a frame,
hang it in your living room or hallway,
and I bet, you'll be crying all day
cause, all you will see and feel is pain.
Man, ain't that a shame,
we're just young kids dealing with issues
as, we take our baths in cold water
and dry ourselves off with tissue
and since we can't see anything at night,
we depend on the moon and stars,
as our main source of light
as we cry ourselves to sleep,
through the course of the night,
as I silently, asked God to send an angel to us
as a pot of gold under a rainbow, would be enough
to help us make it through, when times get rough.
I also prayed for the day mama came fleeing home
because, we're sick and tired of being alone
but, mommy seems to love the crack
more than her own kids in this cold crib,
and it seems like she'll never come back
in fact, she probaly forgot where we live.
We're feeling lonely and sad
and it wouldn't be so bad if, we had a dad
but, he left mom before I took my first step
and I swear, I'll hate him till my last breath!
We have other families but I reckon,
that mom and them don't get along well
plus, they never came by,
to see if things were alright.
We have nosy but, friendly neighbors
but, they can't help us through
cause, they're busy dealing with
their own, apparent drug issues
so basically, we have nothing at all
but, our own precious and tender lives
and soon, we won't have that either
cause, we're struggling to survive.
Soon, death will strike us like,
lightning and thunder
and soon, we'll die of,
sickness and hunger
as, the public will be,
lost in a deep wonder,
wondering who's the parents
and why, they left these kids,
in this unsanitary apartment
and the truth becomes worse
when, noone will be able to claim us
cause, they won't have a proof of birth
so, they won't be able to name us
and when we die, they'll be
three, strange tombstones
that will unfortunately read,
brothers: their names, unknown.

A painful read. I just wanted to reach into this story and hold those babes close. When  little innocents suffer a fate like this, it's hard to think about rosebuds and candies, love and sunshiny days.  Poignant and pointed, all too often a true story on this planet.

Nate, this is heavy stuff. I feel for those little boys. It's a horribly unfair world, that such things are truth.

Very sad but true Nate. It is a shame that there are unfit parents in this world that care more about their drug addiction rather than their childrens' well-being. Well done Nate!! You better start posting more often : ) I like to read your stuff

This is a good story. I hope it isn't true. It's very good.
