Looking deep
Within this darkness of soul
It’s fettered
And dismal
In putrid dankness grown old,
But can’t weep.

Looking long,
Gazing to morbid being
Unsheltered
Guttural
And too drab for the seeing,
Don’t belong.

My old mirror of my soul is shattered,
Just useless pieces yet to be scattered.

Gloom

Thank you, Whisper,
Glad you liked my humble words
and yes this my usual view of myself.
It's one of the reasons I avoid mirrors

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Aszard, my heart goes out to you, and I pray ever so much that you embrace each new day with hope rather than reflect on the past sorrows and see yourself in the giradol of your golden heart and say "I love myself, and will embrace each new day with a smile and share love to all!". (sigh) My heart goes out to your past sorrows, and I pray for you the greatest joy and love to fill your heart! (big hugggssssssss) Have a beautiful day, dear friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aszard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

*sigh* you know sometimes we look in the mirror and judge ourselves much too harshly. Sometimes life has made us see only darkness when there is so much light and beauty still to behold. This poem made me want to reach out and hug you and whisper to you to see the light and beauty in the setting or raising of the sun. To feel the beauty in the softness of new love. *sigh* Now I have prattled on. Well anyway....***hugs***

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Your mirror is distorted, for I see the truth and in it is someone of warmth with  blue eyes that penetrate...and a sometimes smile that warms my heart...

Dear Gloom.....
Ever read the poem Mirror by Sylvia Plath?
I had to read it a few weeks ago with my middle child for a project at school.  Actually he and I done alot of research on the poem via the internet.  I was interested in seeing what others felt about it, because it was his assignment to critique it.
In short, in that poem, I think that time was what was haunting her and the lake was something that reflected the same as the mirror, but also promised something new with each day.
I hate that you feel the way you do when you look into the Mirror....for behind the hand that writes these beautiful words must lie an even more beautiful person.

Have childlike faith...and laugh accordingly.
