Just like a tree
Still can't walk away
Roots
Running far too deep

Yet I can fall
In love
Did that already
With you

Standing there
Strong and so tall
Very few winds
Bending me

Until a north gale
Brought you
Your beauty
Nearly blew me away

Gliding gracefully
Into these empty limbs
Held you tenderly
Like a great oak

Grown stronger since then
Nurtured by your light
Hopes are giant branches
Soaring to the sky

This is great imagery! I really love nature imagery, and the oak is definitely a mighty tree. And are you holding any little acorns?

yes, I love this metaphor, trees have so much meaning and thinking of them as a man standing, tall, strong and then WHOOSH the right lady comes along and well....you said it well!

Now that's what I'm talking about!

I have only one question ... saying you fell for her was metaphorical, right

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
