On A Journey To The Unknown

Never Had A Chance
Honey, I want you to always know
You can't hide anything from me
Control in your family does show
This is something you do not see

I have experienced this in my life
Long before I ever even met you
So when I did become your wife
Seeing this with you was easy to do

Anger you always have towards me
Anytime I tell you what I do know
So I keep my mouth shut don't you see
While to your moms you go to and fro

Daily visits you always have to give
To your moms house every single day
Your own life you just cannot live
And at home you just cannot stay

She has her way of keeping you there
To always keep you right by her side
And to you this just has not been fair
Only from you this does she always hide

But now I know why your relationships die
You've never even had a chance you see
All these years for you silently I did cry
To know there was no chance for you and me

SmartChick, looks like you doubled up on your poem here...or it could be you wanted parts of it repeated...

either way, spoken true from the heart!

Sad tale, and one far more common than one would imagine. This type of control, usually by guilt, is a sickness foisted onto the next generation. The controller is a hard headed golfclub with a selfish, skinny shaft. It's usually covered hidden in a bag notated by a number-1. The controllee, a tightly wound ball that will be sliced astray, drowned in a lake of grief, lost in time's sand trap and ultimately ripped of it's thin cover revealing a tight confused mess.

I'm just going to nod and say I agree with RSWells above.  Deep writing.  *s*

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
