I wrote this in 1990...seems fitting to the world we live in today even more...

If we could see the world
through a childs eyes
life would be uncomplicated
by grownup lies
we'd play ring around the rosey
to the homeless' cries

and the world would be
a better place to live
those most fortunate
would somehow learn to give
we'd all smile and join our hands
and hold them high
while a rainbow shows right through
the troubled sky
if we could see the world
through a childs eyes

If we could change the world
I think it best, be wise
before obliteration
reeks the harvest dry
we can call for peace and freedom
now we must try

to make earth our home
a better place to live
those most fortunate
would somehow learn to give
we'd all smile and join our hands
and hold them high
while a rainbow shows right through
the troubled sky

to make earth our home
a better place to live
those most fortunate
would somehow learn to give
we'd all smile and join our hands
and hold them high
while a rainbow shows right through
the troubled sky
if we could see the world
through a childs eyes...

Certainly bears repeating, especially when it is said so well.  Thank for the  return engagement.  A well needed reminder in times like these.
