The pilots of the Sounds of Freedom crossed my skies today.
I waved and cheered although I knew they were too high to see.
I wanted them to know how glad I was that they were near.
And what those Sounds of Freedom mean to me.

We hear those planes come roaring any hour of day or night.
The US Navy base is only thirty miles away.
As long as I can hear them fly, I know we'll be all right.
Though some of them have now been sent away.

I pray that they will all be coming back home to us soon.
There will no longer be a need to guard the wicked world.
But until that day has come we'll be here to cheer them on,
And keep our nation's flag proudly unfurled.

A warm and caring write, and may God fly with each of the angels keeping the country safe.

It's amazing how much the rumble of a jet across the skies did seem liberating to me. God protect them and us all.

Sincerely,
Regina
