What is aging for?
By Larry Chadwick

If living forever is what it’s about,
Then what is aging for?
Death is something that causes doubt,
But not a thing to abhor.

It’s the ebbing of the time,
As it slowly slips away.
It goes so slow we don’t mind,
There’s always another day.

Suddenly we wake up and see,
That aging has happened to me.
The time it went by so fast,
How could it possibly be?

Now I’m facing my final days,
Reflecting on all I have done.
I think I’ll be just fine,
I fathered my three sons.

Written in honor of my dad.

Sin isn't fair, but God got even, grace isn't fair either.  larry c

Now that is downright sweet. What a nice son you are. Too bad about those wrinkles though.
But me? And I'm not aging, for my hormones are still raging.

This is a wonderful tribute to your father. I loved reading it. *giggling* I may be getting older but I know one thing for sure I have learned how to enjoy life. Well said.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Startime,
Thanks for the kind words.  I think enjoying life is what makes it go by so fast.

A lovely write Larry. What is age but a state of mind anyway. I still feel twenty-five....and I'd like to feel a twenty-five year old right now!!!! Slap me, bite me tongue, I'd better get out of this thread now, before I get really bad. LOL.

Cindi,
I worked up the courage to send it to him.  I'm waiting...and by the way, I like warm fuzzies!

Tracey,
I'm running a two for one deal!  Stop.

Larry - this is so lovely, made me think of my own father and how much I miss him. Going back for a second read. Chris
