Tear filled happy eyes shimmering in the light of a lighthouse nearby.
Standing against the rail of a lonely abode, overlooking a pristine nook.
Sounds of unseen crashing waves filling the night air.
Hands clenched, knuckles slightly white, anxious for a silent seen word
A lover waits  for a shining messenger to again speak.

Sharing a code born of two in love, only they know the words sent.
Silent sound of shimmering lights telling a tale of true and deep love.

Sea breezes sweeping away hair from squinting tearful eyes
Waist tied flowing gown giving delighting glimpses.
Sighing occasionally, shuddering from the chill and wait.
Watching a distant shore once again, awaiting a lover’s word.

At sea, the man thinking of one ashore while tending nets, tending lines.
Hard tiring work.  Difficult and dangerous, distractions dangerous.
Understanding the needs of a distant lovely angel, understanding his job.
Wanting to tell her the word she wants to see.  Waiting for the moment.

Red on right...returning....an old sailors rhyme to remember nautical rules.
Gazing intently into the mist of the sea spray,   looking for a red light.
For a red light returns, waiting love will wait no more.

Casting a beam over the waves into darkness far away, a message is born.
Moving at a speed faster than a wink, boring into the eyes of a lady dear.
A skipped heart beat, slight moan, a soft sigh telling she now knows.
A repeated word....understood and never forgotten...shared
A single word sent by one, meant for two...shared only by two.....

.....Everlasting....

what a beautiful poem....
this is lovely in its imagery and its longing.
I could see this playing out in both their minds...
wonderful story telling poetry...
I have enjoyed the several from you that I have read.
very well done Magnus.

JM...I am pleased that you truly enjoyed this.
I love this type of poem.  Tells a story
yet at the same time paints a very romantic
scene.  I can always feel the scene and
smell the salt air...the chill as well.

Ahh, two of my favorite subjects - love and lighthouses (they do go hand in hand, don't they)?

You've done a marvelous job with this!
