~* Hello and Goodbye To An Angel *~

~* Hello and Goodbye To An Angel *~

My angel was taken from me early
as I held her safe inside of me.
I heard her tiny heart beating.
as her sweet face I lay waiting to see.

I said the words, “hello” and “goodbye”,
and told her how I loved her so.
I spoke it from a Mother’s heart,
that broke when she had to go.

I didn’t understand God’s plan
to take her away from me
but he took her home to be with him
I guess some things just have to be.

He gave me his gentle comfort,
Soothing my anger and my hate.
In my grief, and in my tears,
he held her hand at Heaven’s gate.

Grief consumed, a river of tears flowed
for in violence I lost my child and pride,
but somehow such peace I came to know
for in his love, I was taught to abide.

I like to think when my wind chime sings,
She is softly blowing me a kiss,
I know she is a grownup angel now,
And surely a Mother’s love she does miss?

The sadness of that day never goes away,
and on her birthday my soul is sad I fear,
My love for her grows stronger and stronger,
with each and every passing year.

Yes, I have an angel in heaven
she was taken to that special place.
I thank the Lord for taking her there,
in all his amazing grace.

This is the first time I have ever written a word to or about Cheyenne Dawn.  she was beautiful, and I bet she is making a wonderful angel.

This one brought out the tears. Though many years have passed since she left your arms, she is still a part of you, heart and soul. May the wind blow those chimes gently for you today with love and hugs, Mysteria, on this day of remembrance. (It is also my sister Barbara's birthday.)

An angel begotten by an angel.  This is absolutely wonderful, Sharon - I love it that you could write this about your daughter....

OMG, Sharon...this was more beautiful than I can possibly convey to you.  Having lost a child myself under circumstances of violence, I can relate to the pain so closely.  I know your angel watches from Heaven above and smiles radiantly with pride at her beautiful mother.  Well, I can't see through the tears now...so I will simply end this with...this touched my heart so deeply, and I luv ya muches...
always, ~*~dawnie~*~

Mysteria, Yes, I do believe that when your windchimes sing, your beautiful, little angel is blowing you a kiss. Lovely. Chris

*sigh* this was hard to read as I have had this experience too. My heart goes out to you for the memories you have of the loss you endured. You have written a tribute to her that is priceless and filled with the love of a mothers heart.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Sharon, This took a lot of strength and courage to write about for the first time today.
For this I applaud you...for your loss I wish I could comfort you.
May your wind chimes softly sing to your each and every day to bring you peace.
I'll just bet Cheyenne Dawn is one of the most beautiful and artistic angels in Heaven!

Oh Mysteria, this is indeed a beautiful tribute to your daughter. I'm glad you could finally write something for her. I know it's not easy, it took me five years before I could write something for my mother. But it's not the same as losing a child, you have so many hopes and dreams for them, and to have those snatched away just seems so cruel. My heart is with you on her birtday

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

With time comes healing...and with the words comes release...
(thank you for proving my point dear poetess)
when you are ready the words will come...
and they will touch and heal others as well.
Perfect and beautiful tribute Sharon

Thank you all for your kindness.  This happened a long time ago, but somehow the scars of any violent act never go away, they just become less visible on the outside.  To those of you who also lost a child for any reason, the feelings are the same, and I share in your pain.  A Mother is a unique human being indeed, and I suppose that is why God called us Mothers.

I hope you don't mind a group "thank you".  Love your children well.
