It’s in the dark I find you
Here, alone with me
Midnight reminiscing
My resplendent memory

You come to me in shadows
In whispers subdued  by night
Seeking me in stillness
Bathed in soft moonlight

Preferring to stay
Just slightly out of view
You make my heart reach out
And ache again for you

In this late remember
In these hours I can’t sleep
I allow myself a bit of you
That part I’ll always keep

Walking gently through
My heart’s recollect
I know you’ll always be here
Always have the same effect

You’ll keep my love in longing
For things not meant to be
Residing here forever more
My resplendent memory

the ache of again...dont I know...
somethings we must keep for ourselves in that place
a bittersweet beauty here..lovely phrasing.
well done poetess S.

A place I sometimes find myself at this hour.  Great poem.

Sea, its it not funny that we get these memories at night?  I find I always think of those I love that are gone in the evening when all is quiet.  Perhaps, we need a silenced heart to hear them calling?  This was lovely and of course you realize you opened the floodgates of my memories with this one.  Thank you Susan.

SEA,
Insomnia has its advantages.  Sweet thoughts of lost times and opportunities.  It seems like a parallel experience.  Specific memories brought to mind again by your sweet words.  Thanks.

Forget the damn memories...I want the real thing!
SEA, this was a very (bitter) sweet poem, and I love that word "resplendant"

Susan

this was aching in its longing.
sincere in its meaning...you do
surely have the gift hon! the sadness
of this just leapt off the page at me.
beautiful write!
take care.
amy

p.s. i hope you get to make
some new memories someday soon!

the rain forever.
Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"
