A million miles away I seem
As I look far out to sea
This is the place where we'd come so often
During the time you once loved me

But this day I am alone
Our love is all washed up and gone
A partnership now ended
How very sad now was the song

The seagulls fly above me
As I inhale the warm salty breeze
And I remember how your sweet kisses
Would always bring me to my knees

But those images have all but gone
Just like my footprints in the sand
No longer do I walk this shore
As a lover hand in hand

My loneliness shrouds me like a blanket
As dark shadows invade my mind
Next time when love comes knocking
I'll make sure I'm not so blind

He must love me for who I am
And not for who he wants me to be
And he'll respect my inner feelings
And the heart and soul of me

I really loved the last lines of this. I hope that you find that special love. Very well written.

Well expressed, this is how I feel!
And amen to the last verse!

Take care,
Melissa~

it is a song that rises from a bleeding
wound...or a smiling mouth"
