   Revolving Doors

I have tried doors that were locked
didn’t answer when opportunity knocked
there are many things I didn’t see
now this is the new beginning of me

things we want aren’t so easy to arrange
life’s one true constant is change
weathering winds that sweep us off our feet
knowing when to get back up when we feel beat

relearning the difference between want and need
need should be nurtured it’s a soul seed
for a soul like a seed ignored will wither and die
the secret to effort is follow through with try

can’t turn around retracing my path of tears
they have paved the way and brought me here
and I won’t answer if a fool knocks at my door
I now hold my own key and I deserve more

Helen...keep yer door locked, fools don't knock--they just rush in!

LOVED the strength in this!

What a very true reflection of life. I love the ending

and I won’t answer if a fool knocks at my door
I now hold my own key and I deserve more

A perfect sentiment to close the chapter of one part of life, and start a new, stronger chapter. I think this will be my new motto as I start my next chapter
