Cataclysm “1 a great flood; deluge; also used figuratively as
cataclysm of blood. 2 Any great upheaval that causes
sudden and violent changes”

The doorway was braced and barred with cold steel,
Window shutters were nailed tight against all,
Impending danger everyone could feel,
Precautions taken before panic’s call.

They were a horde of disgusting vermin,
Dressed in black and splattered flowing red,
Deeds of monsters done by the hands of men,
Riding passed not caring or counting dead.

That which would not die was burnt to the ground,
Walls of black and splattered with life’s ending,
They left with the last of the dying sound,
Over then was all of evil’s spending.

Their tide washed in, then over and away,
To whom and what did they prove on that day?
