As Easy as a Gown Dropped

How you gentle me
when I would dance
and twirl around your blue eyes
until you fall dizzy
into the warmth of me

but you hold my shoulders
and I melt where I stand
into the tenderness
of your hands
and in your face I see
all the years of us

Still you keep me
surrounded with your trust
and when I would dance
you watch bedazzled
and take the years from me
as easy as a gown dropped
beside the bed

Sunshine--and NO one make me smile like YOU do!

Kathleen--Thank you for "yes".

Marge--You do!

Vicky--Thank you so much!

Maree--which proves you're not speechless,

Logan--I think you probably always have the right words.

Wandering Glider--I like that...thanks!

so, so. so very lovely, Martie

I hope this doesn't take away from the profundity of this piece, but I couldn't help but think of the caring, talented hand of one who is able to 'gentle' a horse

and the way you spoke of still begin surrounded by trust in the midst of melting to the joy of the promised in the gentle touches

I hope I'm clear in what I'm trying to say...this was so very lovely

Martie,

This is very pretty and I like your use of imagery here.  Well done, my friend.

If you wrote a book of verse and I saw the last copy on the bookstore shelf, I'd wrestle ANYONE to get my hands on it---does that tell you how much I think of your work?
