Fencing

Life is like a chain link fence
Stretched from mile upon mile
Events linked one upon the other

The corner posts are changes in direction
Major events that shape our lives

As the threshold of life was stretched
So must each link of life be stretched

Life upon life
Death upon death
Love upon love
We learn to love
Each hill and valley we span

And the rust that eats
From the inside out
Weakens the links and allows
Slack in the fence

Addictions are like rust
That eats at the soul
Keep the fence tight
Or lose what it holds.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

Wow, this is great! An everyday man made item made conceptual. Very well done! The rust is a very good visualization of addiction! Enjoyed.
Sincerely,
Rwood

Now, the question is:  what is this fence of life keeping out and what is it keeping in?

Rwood, thank you for the kind comments. I wood say that addictions are a curse upon our society.

Interloper, Thank you for the comments.

VAS, Thank you much.

Cpat Hair, Thank you.

Seymour, thank you, I like that, fencing with reality.

Logan, thank you, my smile is one of pride today.

Mark, now mark that is the readers choice but for me it represents the ying  and yang of life. It has to be seperated somewhere and each of our lives seems a perfect place.

Sven, thank you for the gratious comments.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.
