Émigré, I

émigré, emeute!
emigrant expelled, spent
language confounded

how is it I know
what might touch hearts of poets
speaking one to one

I, immigrant, come
through heritage, I be, one
roots still gaining hold

my years do then count
to add prestige to this state
émigré, emeute!

Voices Speak

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

As a "this, that, and the other thing", my heart heard this one, and loved it.

very nicely done... I enjoyed...

and I would kindly point out..that even the native americans have been classified as immigrants as they supposedly came to this continent from others... I think this would fit all...

The common language of the poet is the pen of passion and the feelings which are expressed in its words. No matter the birth place or the distance apart, a poet says all with their heart.

Enjoyed the read GOOOOD work.

This touched my heart. I know it will touch many. To feel the pull of a distant home and the promise of a new beginning----
