Come Back Here With My Cool!!!

someone stole my cool
now all I do is drool
when you walk by in all your glory
promising a wondrous story
if only I could be a chapter
in the book about your life

but then, would it suffice?
to only be an entry
of just a bit of time
a part of your biography
that would maybe cost a dime

oh, no, I’d rather fill
the final pages from now until
we, graying, weak and feeble
go wobbling like a weeble
by walking canes and elbows
linked to keep us stable
from the bedroom to the table

then sitting on the stoop
old hen and old galoot
watching the setting sun
rememb’ring days of fun
when dancing was our staple
and we were more than able

to trip the light fantastic
without some powerful elastic
or implements of plastic
to keep us feeling gay
while dancing to the day
when we delightfully would play

alas, the bubble’s burst
and all I have is thirst
to linger in your arms
and woo you with my charms
‘stead of drooling down my chin
beneath this silly grin.

SEE? Those who MIGHT think they are getting older....STILL have fun!
