Listening to every heart

Blessed Be

blessed be the birds that call
as night begins decline
sweetest voices chirp for all
as slumbering limbs unwind

blessed be the coffee’s brew
that meets and melds with cream
putting smiles into my day
bringing me to my serene

blessed be the early morn
when sunlight begins it's stream
words then come like shining ripples
to fill up last night’s dreams...

for I would write ‘neath luna’s light
and burn my candles one by one
but there are times the pleasure’s clear
when I greet this new day’s sun

so while you sleep away the day
I shall sit and pen away
so in the eve, when blankets cover
you shall read this blessing over

blessed be your poet’s pen
that carves out time and space of men
as women engrave their pause and ponder
blessed be word’s trails left me to wander

Karilea,

This is just wonderful.  I didn't want it to end.
