Just a glimpse of her you see
cealed as she is
in glass
You'll find her
high in top of barnes
put in
while building
Just a tiny
home she needs
not in for much
luxury
Sometimes
you'll find her
in gardens
in little
houses
of broken brick stones
Old farmers
value her dearly
won't do
without her
for her task was
to overlook
what was going on
down there
and every year
they prayed
to her for
blessing the harvest
We have them
both
in barn and garden
The Virgin Mary
her name

Now you have me wondering...is it real? Is it a statute?...is it otherworldly?

A good photo...and a wonderful poem to go with it...

thank you Titia!

Titia:  This is so enjoyable.  Has a sense of mystery and the photo was great.

Yes, Titia, I am curious, too.  Is it a real person?

This makes me think of a mini series that recently aired on t.v. The Mists of Avalon.  It had a rather amazing statement at its conclusion that had to do with the Druid Mother Goddess and the Virgin Mary.  Did you happen to see it? It was a retelling of Camelot, purportedly the truth rather than the traditional. Of course, it was just a movie.

I'm not Catholic, but I do have a bit of exposure to the religion (worked in a church for about 9 months while I was in the Navy) so I get a bit of the feel of this.  Sounds like a pretty powerful push, from the spiritual perspective.  Well written.

Ha ha, got you all puzzled. For the record, I'm not religious at all, but she was there already when we bought the farm and I thought it was rather cute.

Well the truth: in this little glasshouse they really put in a little statue of the Virgin Mary. Tomorrow, when it's not raining I'll try to climb the ladder and make a picture more closeby, it's a real sweety.
I did make a picture just now from the other Mary, the one in the garden. Here she is:

So it's true, I didn't lie, two Mary's keeping watch over us

Titia!  What a charming reply!  How I like the fact that this little lady watches over you from both high and low!

Well done!
