Ember Pillow
By: Noah Eaton
7/9/01

Purple haze lingers down upon the mountains, hovering about
The Lord is brooming a silver lining from light
Milk of the Lamb cascading from castle clouds
An aqueduct, a covert binding the heaven and the earth in sight

Accompanied to Jesus, proclaiming the motive
I am no longer afraid of everything in this world I stand for
In the eve I will rest upon my ember pillow, accepting His gift
Situate myself under sanctity’s blanket, and let the light shine through my door

Slumbering in my clandestine haven, free in His paradise
I walk among the primrose path beneath His hanging gardens
Surrendering myself to heaven, going as far as I can rise
Trespassing a mirror, seeking pleasure from disclosing limits

I watch a dove soar through the sky, a blessing rehearsed
I stand in awe watching all that is lovely that to me before was quaint
Seasons granting me reasons, all my dreams come floating in reverse
In the garden of my heart, I cherish the I Am and pick a nosegay

Well, the point of the matter exists in my own point of view
In my time in Babylon, I regret too much, and it was never too easy
Resting my head on this ember pillow, I find his guidance that I pursue
Here I lie on my mattress, intertwining with a reverie

You know it was really hard to pick a favorite part of this poem, it was my kind of poetry and I LOVED it all, but this is my favorite stanza:
I watch a dove soar through the sky, a blessing rehearsed
I stand in awe watching all that is lovely that to me before was quaint
Seasons granting me reasons, all my dreams come floating in reverse
In the garden of my heart, I cherish the I Am and pick a nosegay

Your imagery was absolutely fantastic, and I really enjoyed this one.

~And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance ~

I loved the archaic references to Babylon, her hanging gardens, and her ember pillow  compared to your rest found in the garden of your heart.  Again, wonderful imagery that took me right into the gardens covered with purple haze.
