Shhhhh...
Do you see that girl over there?
She's cozy in her hard baked shell.
Life holds too many compromises for her weary dueling points of view.
She could write you know,
But it would just be another love poem,
Another sad missing your love poem,
And the world would not change,
A smile would not come,
And her gentle touch would burn one final hole.
Shhhh...
Don't walk up on her too fast,
She's racing that pen with the lines on paper,
Frantically spirit searching and hunting,
For something elusive and hauntingly needed.
Watch her mind turn corners,
Flaunting the disobedience for speed limits.
Listen as her desires call unnoticed,
Sneered and laughed at by her familiar hopes,
She is a lady lost in self seclusion.
Look there...
She is folding up her notepad,
Capping her pen in disgust and sadness.
NO!
POET!
Don't put away that notebook!
Let it smile with your words,
Sweet lady poet, don't stop speaking of your heart!
There are people who need your words,
People who need your heart,
And voices that speak your name in fond circles.
Don't put away your book,
Your pen,
Your smile,
Your heart...
Whats that, poet?
You say you need to smile a bit?
And perhaps some cleansing with tears along the way?
Would you then write for us, poet?
Weild your words like a torch once again?
Would you dream for us again?
Look there, Poet!
Do you see those tears on the horizon?
Those are yours.
They were there all along.
Just look up once in a while,
And you'll see how much we love you.

it was love that first drew me,
it is love that will keep me here...
now I see love burning brightly
when everything else is unclear...

This may be a "rambling" poem but the words spoke volumes to me.

Fabulous read!
