This is written for a friend of mine, Kathryn.

Without A Doubt

It was no ordinary night that I had shaken the hands of fate
For within herself was beyond an ordinary kind
I breathed in amazement to the wonder of how lucky I was
Without a doubt, I'd found loyalty I've waited a lifetime to find...

I was among the chosen few to walk beside you, right beside you
For it's grateful, that I am, without a doubt
Oh, the splendid waters called my name even louder than before
I found loving you was what my days were about...

I lived like an angel so light and carefree to the winds
And, sailed the seas with faith and never held on
I knew those waters were your heart allowing me to set free
So, without a doubt, I let nature carry me along...

Without a doubt, I was anxiously ready to climb
For nothing's ever to high for this soul to reach
I feared nothing, lost nothing, to the distance below
I gained bravery and trust that's all mine to keep...

Without a doubt, I became curious to life around me
For I was everything, yet, not anything, at all
I was and I wasn't what the world needed me to be
But, the world was all that I needed should I ever fall...

It laid as a blanket for the weak to lay their heads
Only, rarely, did I need comfort through the storms
I had enough belief in the rain that the sun would still rise
Not even a chill of loneliness on my face was ever worn...

Without a doubt, I felt how something had changed
For I could relate to the winds that blew
And, while it laid it's presence everywhere around me
I was certain, without a doubt, it was part of you...

I surrendered to the touch, the sweetness, your light has given
Without a doubt, I now know a brighter way to living
I took to heart the impressions you've left me with
With eyes wide open, I give thanks, for your eternal gift...

Of you, My Friend
For forever, Amen.

Sauni

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

all friends should be considered eternal, yes, I like that thought very much!

So often in poetry (and I'm guilty of this in the extreme), writing is done in a dark style -- depressing, or macabre.  This is a refreshing slant on the art that I really love to see done well.  Thank you.

Cpat Hair~ Thank for reading my poem   It means alot to me.

Sven~ Thank you, my friend, I just write from my heart. You are every bit angelic I must say. Thanks for reading my work.

Irish Rose~ Yes, any person I take into my heart, I hold them for eternity and beyond, whatever and whereever that may be. I like the sound of it also. I am everything I say I am and I mean everything I say. Meaning, I won't let you down if you give me the chance to be your friend.

Mishtheelf~ I write of many feelings, not just sad ones, however, I write from experiences I have had whether it be sad ones or good ones. But, I like sad, it gives me a whole new depth of being inside myself.
There's something to be said about sad poems, I like them. Maybe because I can relate to most. Do you know of Vince Gill, in country music? He loves all sad songs, lol.Is why he sings mostly sad stuff.  Thanks for reading this.
