The Shores of Alone

I'll never say good-bye to love
Perhaps just au revoir
because such love won't leave in full
always, there needs be more.

I'll never say good-bye to love
Perhaps an adios
A promise to meet soon again
Our poem is not yet prose.

I'll never say good-bye to love
let doors slam as they will
One day such pain as this shall end
and I will have my fill.

He said good-bye so harshly once
and then he took it back
we both can feel our needs still live
there's too much love we lack.

I can give him passions' fire
and love unbreakable
He only has to open arms
to pull me from this hell.

I'll never say good-bye to love
the thing that holds the cure
to vacant hearts across the miles
One day he will be sure.

So to such end I must confess
a weakening of power
It matters small who gives in first
a rose is still a flower.

I wait then so, in such a way
to keep my heart alive
and ask him please, it's now enough
come back and let love thrive.

Sometimes, it takes strength to see that winning isn't the answer.  i liked this alot.

A wonderful message of hope. "Au revoir" is such lovely, beseeching and seductive parting. Our english good-bye is so blah isn't it. I agree. Save the english version for someone who Blahs you. I hope you get to say "Hello" mon amore!

Sincerely,
Regina

Goodbyes in any form are always hard to do.  This is an excellent write, I enjoyed it very much.

"Our poem is not yet prose."

What a wonderful line!

It matters small who gives in first
a rose is still a flower.

...and these two as well -- very powerful and emoting!  I don't think that real Love can ever hear the words "good bye" -- the people may leave but not our true love of them...  such is the "human experience."  A very heart-felt write, Sandra.

Sandra-
   This is beautiful!
   Some wonderful phrases in this...

"A promise to meet soon again
Our poem is not yet prose."

                 and

"it matters small who gives in first
a rose is still a flower."

   Love it!
