Splendor In The Grass
By: Noah Eaton
8/17/01

Chanting sweet melodies on an alpine meadow
Flowered in bluebells and freesia
Blueberry briars sun-ripened among the bluegrass miles
Where the bluebirds invite unto this delicate spring feast

I sit here on the grass, watching the sparrows and the stellar jays
Dart through the air and upon my shoulders, singing minuets of Jesus
Wings fluttering against the soft southernly breeze, virtuosos of nature's conspirito
A contagious song of providence that all my Brothers and Sisters pass on

Spinning in the wind bedazzled by this golden serenity, leaping in the wind
Overlooking turquoise-laden mountains in the distance, crests powdered with snow
Here it is cool, yet so peaceful and dappled with enigmatic beauty
Where the daffodil sun moans sunbeams of light among these lotus plateaus

Kneeling down to rest on the sweet ground, staring into the eyes of a daisy
Yellow velvet pedals glowing with sweet love, with a white satin heart resembling a lover's faithful promise
My face blushes with velvet pleasure, dazing away of the love my heart desires
Sleping away as a small sweet rain begins to fall on the meadow

Waking up to see the daisy is still there, dancing happily in the wind
I rise slowly to look around to see myself surrounded by millions of flowers, shaded by aspens
Among them I see two sweet cherry trees, budding with velvet leaves of pink and ivory
Nesting within them are clouds of white doves, draping roses by their beaks

Smiling by this peculiar but heavenly sight, I approach slowly, spinning around with joy
Noticing a white satin hammock hanging between the trees, rocking like a cradle in the windrow
Bending over to look into the hammock, my heart sudeenly beats with lovingly felicity
To see a sweet young woman resting, breathing comfortably with ruby red lips kissing the sky

Wearing a silk white snow dress with hints of blue and a sunbonnet on her head, with long brown hair waving along her back in the wind
Moaning in her sleep with pleasure, wearing daisies and lilies in her angelic hair
Staring in the heavenly beauty of her, I bend down to kiss her lips in her sleep
Slowly she opens her eyes with a jocose smile, and reaches up to touch my face lovingly

Gently she wraps her hands around my neck and I pick her up, hugging her in tears
Skipping with her in these sapphire fields, words falling short of our amorous thoughts
Finally she whispers in my ear three words, which weaken my heart with romantic wonder
And again I kiss her rosy lips, welcoming her into my soft embrace

The doves cry and float around us in the air, dropping roses around us as we cherish the passionate scent
I stare into her eyes, seeing that daisy I saw swaying in the wind, laughing with pleasure
Gently I pull the sunbonnet from her head, caressing her soft hair in loving care
Embracing again in loves kiss, slowly falling to the grass in each others arms

Rolling around in the soft grass, kissing and kissing as we are both left breathless
She holds me down, as I slip the lace of her dress down her shoulder, kissing it softly
Muffling her in my arms, I shower her neck with kisses, as she strokes my face with passionate caresses
As we make love to each other in this Divine Meadow, my sleeping beauty finally awakening to loves tender touch

Rousing as the sun shines in my face, seduced from the sheer magic of the daisy
Reminded though of the magic of a dream is but a bridge connecting closer to the heart of Light
That I may find this girl smiling in front of me when I again gaze into this daisy
When I walk around gazing upon all the intertwined spirits of the Earth

Glimpsing at a wild rose sipping the light rain of a rainbow now peaking out of the clouds
Reflecting upon the doves that embedded the heaven of my dreams
I smile again, fighting the tears with the buoyant song of God
Crooning with the face of Love, igniting splendor in the grass
