Oppression lurks in every room,
the unexpected thrives...
The one you thought you knew is now a stranger...
The eyes that once were soft and warm,
are now reptilian cold...
You’re dancing with a cobra,
you’re in danger...

Sides are chosen, blame is laid,
so back and forth you sway...
While ego, hurt, then anger rise and surface...
What once was love, or so you thought,
morphs quickly into hate...
The dance begins...
Love’s cobra shows it’s purpose...

You’ve no protector, nor can hide…
The cobra lies in wait…
Content to use the past, it’s favorite weapon…
It breaks you down and spins you ‘round,
with constant lightening speed…
While everything familiar,
seems to threaten…

The cobra has a smiling face,
a smile that you once loved…
But something lurks, and now you see what’s wrong…
Reality has hit you,
and you sadly realize…
The cobra has been with you,
all along…

The end is reached, all music stops,
the cobra rises tall…
The path behind it strewn with lost romance…
In front of you, an open door…
You enter, then you shut…
You’ve saved your soul from falling prey,
within the cobra’s dance…

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Sunny
Be careful - snakes are sneaky and slippery, and even though they shed their skin - they are still evil deep inside.  Very interesting ------ the way you put these words together.

Would make for a woeful winter in a place where cabin fever could test even a strong relationship. RUN!
