I changed some lines in this and wanted to repost i

I'll Take The Long Way Home

What a short time but it was oh so sweet
Never felt so much power in just a simple belief
And, how I remember the way the wind called out your name
And, I smile to the sky in assurance that I could feel you the same...

Oh, the days were as pleasant as the morning sun
Never felt so much warmth at the time come from anyone
And, how I remember the way the rain brought me to you
I'd smile to the sky in assurance that I could feel you too...

So, now, I go back and I try to live the only way I knew best
But, never does the sky above have a single day to rest
Cause always you look up and always you see it there
And, through any number of the many miles you'll find it everywhere...

Tonight, I will hold onto the wind once again
And, smile to the sky as I ask to be there with my friend
This time I don't want to remember just one memory I've known
Cause tonight I'm taking the long way home...

I want to remember the first time I heard I'll love you forever
And, evertime you've told me it is our journey together
And, oh how the days and nights I've lived for you and you alone
So, tonight, feel me, I'm taking the long way home...

I close my eyes in the feeling the first time I saw your face
And, walking down and toward you, I knew I found my place
It was all that I knew was just the way I should walk
God I sigh to the many of memories of the hours we've talked...

I don't want to forget the first time I learned to really dream
And, how you placed the darkest night before me
What a feeling I remember of not being alone
So, understand if I happen to take the long way home...

So, forever I'll hold onto the dreams that I felt your touch
Couldn't find anything to compare to that I loved as much
No greater way to calmness when on my shoulder's your hand
I was carried, so safely, to a better land...

I don't ever want to leave from here not now not ever
Let me live in the memories now and forever
Now, this time I don't want to remember just one memory we've known
Cause, I love you now and forever on this long way home..

Clearly, the heart spells its longing, and bliss in simultaneous delight...Very nice!

Saunni
This was such a stunningly heartfelt piece of writing from you.  How vivid were the images of love and longing you portrayed and I have to wonder where we'd all be without our precious memories and dreams.  Hold onto them tight and never let them go.
Take care.........Sue
