Tides Of Friendship

Our bond is a vessel
which ebbs and flows
through the vast sea
swaying with intensity
awash over the glistening shoreline
building sandcastles
within our hearts

When the storms of life
rage on to sink my ship
and all my dreams are forced ashore
you sail towards me
in swift currents of turquoise wave
cleansing my soul
with moist caress
and, I wade in your pool
of understanding, love and tenderness
upon the tides of friendship

When my wings unfold
and I am free to fly once more,
you let me ride the waves alone
across the deep majestic ocean
of moonswept mist,
warm and inviting
from friendship's bliss
