MyWay - The HighWay

0 posted 2001-08-09 02:25 PM

This lazy hazy day
Will make me crazy in its way
My tent my solitude
Convention for six-legged dudes
105 – that’s in the shade
My sensibility’s about to fade
Sitting neath the banyan
With wind machine companion
Water’s gone - hose is dry
Throat is parched, gonna fry
Car won’t start, can’t go to town
Stuck in the heat, turning brown
Got no drinks, too hot to eat
My car and I don’t like this heat
Sure wish that I could take a shower
Getting ranker by the hour
I’ve tried to write to kill the time
Can’t even keep my metered rhyme
Good thing that I can get online
So I can complain and whine

Wishing you some cooling relief soon. It's just as bad here right now too. I can sure understand whining in this awful climate. Try to keep as cool as possible. Cute poem and graphics!

That was neat.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Sounds like you live in Texas! Last year, we had not a drop of rain in July and August and had something like 60 days over 100 degrees. Hang in there, and thanks for sharing your poem.  I really enjoyed it.
